IMHO, the Wooting 60HE is a next level keyboard. I’ve had been using another brand’s full size mechanical keyboard (with Cherry MX Reds) and associated mouse. The mouse started acting up, and I was fed up with the bloated, buggy and terrible software, so I decided to look into Wooting as I had heard great things about their 60HE and more recently saw the new 80HE.
I had been contemplating going down to a 60% size keyboard because I was just tired of the full-size keyboard taking so much space and didn't really needing all the extra keys for productivity work and gaming. I also needed a solution I could use with Mac, Windows and Linux machines alike. I had heard some great things about Wooting in the past, so I decided to look into them.
However, I was skeptical that I could really do away with all the extra keys until I watched several reviews, most notably those by BadSeedTech (many on mods and things you could get out of it) and JSyntax ("It's Not Just for Gamers: Wooting 60HE+ Review for Peak Office Productivity"). They clinched the deal that the 60HE was the way to go. So I ordered a pre-built 60HE.
After using it for only a couple days, I was blown away by the software and just the overall feel and sound of the pre-built version! So much so, I also ordered a new Optimum case, and am currently looking to find that "just right" color way of keycaps, as well as anxiously awaiting Wooting to start selling some of the new switches they mentioned last week!
Hats off to Wooting, well done! I will be a forever owner of Wooting products! I will never go anyplace else to buy a keyboard again!
As a side note, BadSeedTech’s recent mouse review also clinched the deal that I got a Zowie U2-DW to go with it. So I now have a perfect setup with perfect software for the keyboard and zero software for the mouse. No more buggy and bloated software running on my machines!
