Sorry to hear your new keyboard arrived with these issues. We completely understand how disappointing that is, especially when you're excited to receive it.
I can see you've already been in contact with our support team and that a replacement process is underway, so hopefully you'll have a fully working keyboard soon.
Regarding the JST cable, if it isn't fully/properly seated during assembly it can indeed cause intermittent connection issues. In many cases it's a quick fix by unplugging and firmly reconnecting it, though we completely understand if you'd rather not open up a brand new keyboard yourself.
As for the A key, our keyboards include a few spare switches to help rule out or resolve the occasional individual switch issue, so hopefully swapping the switch solved that issue (even though it being temporarily as), regardless, since your keyboard is being replaced, both issues should be resolved with the new unit.
