Yes, they are technically shine-through. No, you won't see the shine unless you look from straight up and real close, in fact, you can see more light in between the keys than on top. I'm pretty confident calling this a scam, they even made them somewhat shine-through so you can't ask for your money back...

Sorry to hear you're not satisfied with the keycaps. We do have to disagree with the characterization here, as the keycaps are genuinely shine-through and we very rarely receive feedback suggesting otherwise.
I did see the picture attached to your review, and the amount of shine-through does indeed appear lower than what we'd normally expect. Looking at your order, I can only find the keycap set itself. Are you perhaps using these keycaps on a different keyboard purchased under another account or from another brand? If so, it would be useful to know whether that keyboard uses north-facing or south-facing LEDs, as well as which switches you're using and how they are installed. Our legends are aligned to work with north-facing RGB configurations and ofcourse the switches also need to be inserted as such and have an RGB window to let the light through.

OK... If you like black keycaps and razor sharp shine-through characters, stop looking and give these a try. I know, PBT is where elitist keyboard snobs are going to go, unless the brand starts with a G... But these are really nice and have a decent sound.
I searched for black PBT shine-through keycaps for months and nothing comes close to how nice these look. The shinethrough is comparable to how clear the Wooting White PBT shine-through keycaps. I actually mix and matched using the white PBT for my letters and numbers and the black ABS for my modifiers and function keys. Kinda great looking with the raw or black zinc alloy case.
