Wooting Friction fit pad
Easy to install, fits much better than my O-ring hack and sounds good. Be sure to ground your pcb with a **** if using an alumaze - only found out about this after watching the installation video.
We could have the option in black silicone, because not everyone likes the excess of lights leaking all over the keyboard, I personally don't like it.
That said, please make the Wooting Friction fit pad available in black silicone, so everyone would have the option to customize the keyboard to their liking. Thank you all.
Hi Othogamis,
Thanks a lot for your feedback — we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
We understand no everyone uses/appreciates RGB in the same way, but I think the color of the friction fit pad won't affect the RGB output (a lot), as the RGB whines through all the layers because of the window in the switch and on top of the friction fit pad there's the switch plate, which is visible from the top in between the keycaps, but that we do have available in black if needed: https://wooting.io/product/60he-pc-switch-plate?Color=Black&Layout=ANSI+Kit
And ofcourse you can just lower the brightness of your LEDs if it's just too much, but if we're missing the point of what might be happening when using the friction fit pad, maybe you can send us some pictures as well?
That said, we always welcome suggestions like this, and we’ll definitely keep it in mind as we keep improving and expanding customization options.
If you have any questions or need any support, feel free to reach out to us at https://wooting.io/support — we’re happy to help out!
Cheers,
Nicky

This thing works beautifully with the tofu 60 case. I do not miss having to bust out a screwdriver to maintain or clean my pcb. The instructional videos about how to remove the pcb with the pad installed were helpful too. Keep it up, ding-dongs!
Got this for my tofu 60 redux case and it fits better then hard mounting it in my opinion very easy to install the friction fit pad and very satisfying feel/sound
This is great! I learned about the friction fit pad in Optimum's case reveal (I think) and immediately bought one. It's such a simple yet genius idea, I can't believe I haven't come across this in my 6+ years in the hobby.
I've always disliked tray mounted boards since it's usually a pain to get the PCB screwed in to begin with (and unfortunately, the 60HE w/ Alumaze was no exception), and acoustics are always lackluster and highly inconsistent across different parts of the board, Geon Raws and the friction fit pad greatly improved my 60HE's sound, although it's a bit thocky now.
This is likely the biggest step up one can get in terms of typing feel and acoustics, and I'd argue this should come with metal 60% cases by default.
